The Chamber will help promote your scarecrow (and your business!) by sharing your photo on our social media posts, press releases, an ad in the Record Journal, an online gallery, and a voting poll.  Post your favorite on social media with #ScarecrowsOnTheSquare.

Scarecrow Contest

Guidelines

Contest is open to individuals, businesses, organizations and clubs. There is an entry fee of $20. This fee includes a custom printed sign to identify your scarecrow.

All scarecrows must be designed so that they will stand upright and supplied with materials necessary to display them in an upright manner.

Scarecrows must be in good taste and appropriate for viewing by the public and families. Must be absent of adult, political and religious themes. No frightening, scary, violent, gruesome or bloody entries will be accepted.

All scarecrows should be positioned around the Sumter County Courthouse Square.

Voting on scarecrows will begin on October 5th and continue through October 31st at 4:00 p.m. Voting is open to anyone. Voting will be done online in a photo album on the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

Scarecrows must be reclaimed by their sponsors by November 7th. All scarecrows not reclaimed by November 7th will be removed and discarded.

The City of Livingston will issue gift cards to be used at local businesses as prizes. 1st place will receive $150, 2nd place will receive $100 and third place will receive $50.
